FILM REVIEW: The Double
The Double (Richard Ayoade, 2013)

In a word, this film is WEIRD. But I mean that in the best possible way. It may not be for everyone but it certainly offers up a unique and engaging cinematic experience. Based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s 1846 novella of the same name, The Double follows Simon James (Jesse Eisenberg), a rather pathetic, almost invisible man for whom things rarely seem to go right.
FILM REVIEW: Grace of Monaco
Grace of Monaco (Olivier Dahan, 2014)

When the closing credits of Grace of Monaco rolled, a woman in my audience let out a fairly quiet but rather prolonged fart. This somewhat echoed the critics in Cannes who shat all over the film when it premiered, but I feel a light fart is more justified. It wasn’t as crap as they had suggested, but it had a bit of a pretentious waft. Continue reading FILM REVIEW: Grace of Monaco
FILM REVIEW: A Million Ways to Die in the West
A Million Ways to Die in the West (Seth MacFarlane, 2014)
Not everyone is a fan of animated TV hit Family Guy, but I certainly am. It’s not at all PC but it gets away with it. It’s funny, it’s random, and every now and then they have a fully-fledged musical number so I’m TOTALLY ON BOARD. Continue reading FILM REVIEW: A Million Ways to Die in the West
FILM REVIEW: Maleficent
Maleficent (Robert Stromberg, 2014)
There are often good moral lessons to be learnt in fairy tales. For example: be wary of strangers (Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel), don’t tell lies (Pinocchio, The Boy Who Cried Wolf), it’s what’s on the inside that counts (The Ugly Duckling), don’t be a cocky wanker (The Tortoise and the Hare, The Gingerbread Man), and sometimes it’s better to just invite bitches to parties to save yourself from added drama (Sleeping Beauty). TONYS Wrap Up
For all the awesome people who love musical theatre, I thought I’d do a wrap-up of the best awards show of the year – the TONYS!

There were no less than 13 musical performances from current and future musicals on Broadway, as well as a few other potentially questionable numbers. Continue reading TONYS Wrap Up
FILM REVIEW: Edge of Tomorrow
Edge of Tomorrow (Doug Liman, 2014)
While I’m sure many will stay away from this movie purely because it stars the likes of Tom Cruise, you should know that you get to see him die over and over again. Cage (Cruise) gets stuck in a time loop while combatting an alien invasion, with the day resetting each time that he dies. Continue reading FILM REVIEW: Edge of Tomorrow
