FILM REVIEW: Daddy’s Home 2 (2017)

In 2015’s Daddy Home, stepdad Will Ferrell vied against cool dad Mark Wahlberg for the title of BEST DAD. By the end of the film they were both winners and best buds. The critics hated it but the masses ate it up, hence the current sequel. Taking what seems to be an obvious leaf out of the Bad Moms’ franchise’s book, Daddy’s Home 2 sees the dads’ dads join them at Christmas time. FILM REVIEW: Bad Moms 2 (2017)

At the start of November the Christmas decorations start to adorn the city, carols start to be played through the supermarket radio channels, and grinches complain that it’s still two bloody months away. But SCREW THOSE PEOPLE because Christmas is everything! And it’s near enough for our first Christmas release of the year, Bad Moms 2 (originally titled A Bad Moms Christmas before someone realised how lame that sounded). FILM REVIEW: Home Again (2017)

Current marketing for Home Again quotes a reviewer who declared it an “instant classic”. And I’m here to tell you that whoever said that is a moron. Writer/director Hallie Meyers-Shyer delivers her feature debut, trying in vain to measure up to the successful schmaltz of her parents, Nancy Meyers (Something’s Gotta GiveIt’s Complicated, The Holiday, The Intern) and Charles Shyer (Father of the Bride/2, I Love Trouble, Alfie).
